In less than one day the sheet rock is in. Next is tape and texture. That might be tomorrow. Then I can paint. Which means I have to decide on a color(s). Really would be nice if the electricity was in soon so I can get the air conditioner going.
Hi Todd, nice work. About to start on my 1800 sqft container house in a few months. Have a question, now the insulation and dry walls are in. Is the interior cooler compared to before? I'll be building mine in a tropical climate with high humidity and temperature. Any tips much appreciated. Thanks and look fwd to seeing the finished product.
It depends on how you look at it. It is stays cool longer than before. I think I'm going to be happy with it. The insulation slows down the heat transfer through the walls and roof. My biggest concern was sealing the structure. We have high humidity here most of the year and any air leaks means more moisture for the air contiditioner to remove. Spray foam is the best way to seal a structure even though it is three to four times the cost of fiber glass batt insulation. You only get one chance to insulate the structure the right way. Good luck with your project.
